China New Higher Education Seeks More Time to Complete Sale of Higher Education Wing; Shares Down 5%

China New Higher Education Group (HKG:2001) has sought to push the completion date of the proposed sale of Songming Xinju Enterprise Management to July 20, according to a Monday filing to the Hong King stock exchange.

The extended time has been sougth to prepare and finalize additional required information.

In May, the company's affiliated entity Beijing Daai Shuren Education Consulting agreed to sell Songming Xinju to

Purchaser Guangxi Yinghua Haian Education Investment for 359.5 million yuan.

Following completion, the target firm, which is the sole shareholder of the Qinzhou Yinghua Datang Education Investment, mainly engaged in private formal higher education, will cease to be a unit of China New Higher Education.

The company's shares were down over 5% in recent trade.
