Hot weather seen in the Midwest appears to have spurred an uptick in CBOT grains, particularly in corn futures. While an eventual cooling is expected in the coming weeks for U.S. crop-growing areas, right now hot temperatures are placing stress on corn and soybeans. Weather elsewhere in the world is also a factor supporting an uptick in corn, says ADM Investor Services in a note. "There is something else driving the rally, EU weather," says analysts with the firm. Corn is up 1.3% late in trading, while soybeans are up 0.4% and wheat is up 0.6%. (kirk.maltais@wsj.com)
