0347 GMT - Malaysia's renewable energy development is expected to strengthen in 2H, supported by stable solar panel prices, higher rooftop solar adoption, growing battery storage investment and strong electricity demand from data centers, says David Ng at Hong Leong IB. Potential refinements to the government's initiative enabling large corporate consumers to purchase renewable energy could also improve project economics and accelerate investment, Ng says in a note. Hong Leong maintains an overweight rating on the renewable energy sector, with buy calls on Samaiden and Solarvest as key beneficiaries of the multi-year solar-plus-storage expansion cycle.
