AstraZeneca's (AZN) Enhertu has been approved by the European Commission for treating adults with previously treated HER2-positive unresectable or metastatic solid tumors who have no satisfactory treatment options.

The approval was based on phase 2 studies showing clinically meaningful response rates in patients with HER2-positive tumors across multiple cancer types, it said.

Enhertu is jointly developed and commercialized by AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo.
