Kymera Therapeutics shares surged Thursday after the biotechnology company said it completed enrollment in a mid-stage trial of its atopic dermatitis treatment candidate ahead of schedule, accelerating a key data readout.
Shares were recently up around 21% at $121.06. It hit a new 52-week high of $130.05 earlier in the session.
The company said enrollment in the Phase 2b BROADEN2 trial of KT-621, an oral treatment for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, was completed nearly six months ahead of expectations. Kymera now expects to report topline data by the end of 2026, compared with previous guidance for mid-2027.
Subject to regulatory discussions, the company said it expects to begin Phase 3 trials in atopic dermatitis by mid-2027.
Chief Executive Nello Mainolfi said the faster enrollment reflected strong patient and provider interest in an oral treatment option for the disease.
The global BROADEN2 study is evaluating three doses of KT-621 in about 200 adult and adolescent patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis over 16 weeks. The primary endpoint is the percentage change from baseline in Eczema Area and Severity Index score at Week 16.
Kymera also is evaluating KT-621 in a Phase 2b asthma trial, with data expected in late 2027.
