The next UK prime minister and chancellor must reduce the burden on businesses to support economic growth, British Chambers of Commerce Director General Shevaun Haviland will say on Thursday, the PA news agency reported Wednesday.

According to PA, Haviland will argue that successive governments have increased costs for companies through higher taxes and wage bills, urging the next government to avoid imposing further financial burdens on businesses.

Her comments come ahead of the BCC's annual conference, where Chancellor Rachel Reeves is also scheduled to speak, amid uncertainty over the UK's political leadership, PA reported.
