Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) said Monday it launched ICE GreenTrace, a registry technology platform for environmental assets.

The service supports the issuance, transfer, and retirement of environmental instruments, including carbon credits, emissions permits, and energy attribute certificates, the company said.

ICE said Winrock International's Environmental Resources Trust moved its carbon credit registry operations to the system as a launch partner.

The migration included about 437 million serialized credits, more than 40,000 files and documents, and data associated with 1,162 projects and programs and 857 account holders, according to the company.
