Region's Portfolio Valuation Update Positive -- Market Talk

0027 GMT - The latest assessment of Region's portfolio value pleases its bull at Citi. Region says its portfolio is now worth around A$4.60 billion, up A$9.48 million on six months ago. Net tangible assets increased by 3 Australian cents per unit and gearing remains within Region's target range. "Critically, with the share price at A$2.43, the NTA uplift widens the discount to approximately 8.1%," analyst Howard Penny says. Region's portfolio is largely anchored by Woolworths supermarkets, so is more defensive than malls focused on discretionary goods. "We believe revenue will outpace costs over at least the next two years due to fixed cost negotiations and improved cost management, reversing the historical gross lease drag," Citi says. It retains a buy call and A$2.60/share price target on Region. (david.winning@wsj.com; @dwinningWSJ)
