American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR) said drilling at its Halleck Creek flagship development project in Wyoming is now underway, alongside other progress across the company's US rare earths project portfolio, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company has drilled five holes so far at Halleck Creek, where assay turnaround is expected to be about six weeks due to a busy North American drilling season, per the filing.

The company's Beaver Creek project in Wyoming is still an early-stage exploration asset but is being reviewed for a potential role in a future rare earth processing strategy centered around the US state.

Meanwhile, the company is advancing a property assessment at the La Paz project in Arizona set to continuing through 2026, and plans to start an exploration review of the Nevada-based Searchlight heavy rare earths project in the third quarter.

At Beaver Creek, La Paz and Searchlight, American Rare Earths expects 2026 and 2027 work programs to focus on refining the geological understanding and identifying the best exploration pathways to create additional value.

The company's shares fell past 2% in recent Thursday trade.
