Hive Digital Technologies Obtains Approval to Acquire Swedish Data Center

HIVE Digital Technologies (HIVE) said Wednesday it has received municipal approval to purchase the 32-megawatt Big Boden data center in Sweden from Bodens Utvecklings.

The agreement converts the company from a leaseholder to the property owner of the location that has hosted its regional operations since 2018, the company said.

The company plans to upgrade the facility to accommodate artificial intelligence and high-performance computing requirements, Hive said.

Shares of the company were up over 2% in Thursday premarket activity.
