1020 GMT - A resumption of energy exports from the Persian Gulf could rule out a Bank of England interest-rate hike, Berenberg's Andrew Wishart says in a note. The drop in energy prices after the announcement of the U.S.-Iran deal will come as a relief to the majority of policymakers, who may have had little appetite to raise rates, he says. The deal reduces the extent the BOE could have to crimp activity in order to contain inflation. However, the bond market remains more cautious and still prices in a 25 basis-point hike this year. "Barring a renewed spike in energy prices, we think the BOE will instead deliver an interest-rate cut by year-end," Wishart says. The central bank meets this week. (edward.frankl@wsj.com)
