Avista (AVA) shares were down about 2.8% in Monday trading after the company said it will take more time to evaluate energy requests from new large data center developers while seeking policy and community alignment.

Negotiations concerning energy service to a potential 500 megawatt data center are now paused, the company said late Friday.

The decision comes after recent community interest and concern related to Avista's memorandum of understanding with the new 500MW data center developer, according to a statement.
