Chow Tai Fook's Profit Growth Likely to Continue Despite Recent Gold Drops -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jun 15

0332 GMT - Chow Tai Fook Jewellery's earnings growth is likely to continue despite gold's recent drops, say HSBC Global Investment Research's Lina Yan and Yimin Wang in a note. Gold's price declines are likely to stimulate demand for weight-based gold jewelry, they say. Lower gold prices should also improve the Hong Kong jewelry company's working-capital efficiency and strengthen its dividend-paying capital, they add. HSBC raises its target price on Chow Tai Fook to HK$14.80 from HK$13.50 and maintains a buy rating. Shares are 0.7% higher at HK$12.90. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
