Aurelia Metals (ASX:AMI) said the construction and commissioning of the new tailings thickener at the Peak processing plant in New South Wales was completed, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The tailings thickener is expected to allow for enhanced metal recoveries, reduced cyanide reagent consumption, and more effective tailings deposition, the company said. It also supports the increase in processing capacity at Peak from 800,000 tonnes per year to a range of 1.1 million to 1.2 million tonnes per year.
The construction of the Tertiary Ball Mill project continues in line with schedule, with commissioning expected in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
Aurelia shares fell nearly 6% in recent trading on Tuesday.
