Integral Diagnostics (ASX:IDX) is set to conduct an independent audit to confirm that there are no billing anomalies related to its unit, Apex Radiology, "out of an abundance of caution," noting recent media reports alleging inappropriate billing practices by the said unit at the Kalgoorlie Hospital in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The firm said that it was not aware of any such inappropriate billing practices at the hospital.

Apex Radiology has an agreement with the state government entity, WA Country Health Service (WACHS), to provide radiologist reporting services across several hospitals, including the Kalgoorlie Hospital.

WACHS staff conduct diagnostic imaging in the Kalgoorlie Hospital, with a magnetic resonance imaging technician provided by Apex.

Its shares declined 4% in recent trading on Tuesday, reaching their lowest point in over two years.
