Cracker Barrel Stock Gaining on Better-Than-Expected 3Q -- Market Talk

1653 ET - Cracker Barrel's stock is rising after a 3Q that defied analyst expectations of a loss. The company's profit of $42.8 million includes a $47.4 million legal settlement, but even on an adjusted basis, the company reports earnings of 29 cents a share where analysts were expecting a loss of 48 cents a share. Cracker Barrel's full-year revenue outlook is also lifted by $30 million to a range of $3.27 billion to $3.3 billion. Shares are up 12% to $40.49 after the closing bell. (elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
