CAE intends to renew its share repurchase program to buy back up to 5% of its issued and outstanding common shares over a one-year period.

The Canadian aerospace and defense technology company, which provides simulation, training, and critical operations solutions, said Friday that the Toronto Stock Exchange has approved its plan to buy back up to 16 million shares.

Shares have been under pressure so far in 2026, down about 15% since the year began to close on Thursday at 35.38 Canadian dollars ($25.44).

At Thursday's closing price, the value of the block of shares intended for buyback would be worth about C$566.8 million.

For its previous buyback program, which expires on June 9, the company purchased 565,259 of the 16 million shares allowed over the course of the previous year.

The company can begin buying back shares under the new program beginning on June 10.
