Taiwan Shares End Higher, Supported by Semi Stocks -- Market Talk

0720 GMT - Taiwan's benchmark Taiex closed 1.35% higher at 45337.91, supported by semiconductor stocks. Nvidia, known for dominating the market for AI chips in data centers, introduced a new PC chip for running AI agents at the annual Computex conference in Taipei. MediaTek rose 5.7% after it collaborated with Nvidia on the CPU design for the new PC chipset. Quanta Computer surged 9.9%. Meanwhile, Nvidia's latest AI-computing hardware Vera Rubin is in full production and will begin shipping to customers in 3Q. Foxconn Technology, which builds AI servers for Nvidia, rose 1.6%.
