Berkshire Taylor Morrison Deal Is Vote of Confidence in Builders -- Market Talk

1005 ET - Berkshire Hathaway's deal to acquire homebuilder Taylor Morrison is a vote of confidence in the homebuilding industry, UBS analysts say. The demand for new homes and undemanding valuations "are likely to continue driving investment into the homebuilding industry over time from sources of long-term oriented capital," including Berkshire and Japanese companies, the analysts say. "We expect continued consolidation of the US homebuilders, which could provide a meaningful catalyst for industry improvement, efficiency gains and stock price appreciation." They add that Berkshire's Clayton Homes, the largest producer of manufactured housing in the U.S., could infuse more off-site construction methods at Taylor Morrison, which is key for the industry.
