Tiptree authorized $20 million of share repurchases following its sale of The Fortegra Group, a specialty insurer, to DB Insurance.

In addition to the buybacks, the sale improves Tiptree's financial flexibility to pursue capital allocation opportunities and strengthens its balance sheet, the company said, resulting in $23.80 pro-forma book value per share.

"We are well positioned to focus on the next phase of our strategy--driving long-term value through disciplined capital allocation and strategic acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on financial services, including insurance, asset management, and specialty finance," Tiptree's Chief Executive Michael Barnes said.
