BRP's Tariff Costs Likely Better Than Feared -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
May 28
0919 ET - BRP faces tough tariff headwinds, but Scotiabank's Jonathan Goldman believes they aren't as severe as originally feared. The analyst says the revised EPS guidance of C$3.25 at the midpoint compared to the previous guidance of C$6.00 implies a smaller-than-expected tariff hit "better than the company's original estimate of incremental tariff costs of C$500 million before any mitigating measures." Goldman says BRP's 1Q beat, with Ebitda running 23% above consensus, also helps absorb part of the tariff impact and provides investors with more clarity around the company's outlook.
