0126 GMT - Malaysia's home solar push through a new government rebate scheme is expected to accelerate residential rooftop solar adoption amid rising electricity costs linked to the Iran war, TA Securities analyst Hafriz Hezry says in a note. The initiative offers rebates of 600 ringgit per kWac, supporting up to 250 MWac of residential solar installations, and creating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning opportunities worth an estimated 875 million ringgit to 1 billion ringgit, he says. He expects Northern Solar, Verdant Solar, Samaiden, Sunview, Solarvest and Pekat to be potential beneficiaries. TA Securities maintains an overweight rating on the Malaysian utilities sector, pegging Tenaga Nasional, Samaiden, Malakoff and Ranhill Utilities as top picks. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
