Anthropic's Project Glasswing Signals Shift in Cybersecurity -- Market Talk

1331 ET - Anthropic's most recent update on Project Glasswing, a coalition of firms using the company's Claude Mythos model to identify cyber vulnerabilities, points to a fundamental shift in cybersecurity "from a vulnerability discovery constrained environment to a remediation constrained one," Benchmark analyst Yi Fu Lee writes in a note. So far, Project Glasswing participants have found vulnerabilities faster than humans can address them. "Cybersecurity is no longer limited by technical capability, but by human and operational capacity to remediate risks, which we view creates an opportunity to leverage AI in the workflow in a controlled stepwise function," Lee writes, noting that Palo Alto Networks and Microsoft have upped their patch cadence with AI. "We believe this reflects the beginning of a broader shift from reactive detection toward proactive, AI assisted remediation workflows." (elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
