Guzman Y Gomez Bull Sees U.S. Exit Increasing Value -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
May 22
0101 GMT - Guzman Y Gomez's bull at RBC says his valuation of the Australian fast-food operator could rise on its U.S. exit. Analyst Michael Toner tells clients in a note that the Mexican-themed chain had very low prospects of being successful in the U.S. Losses from the region were weighing down group earnings, so Toner sees the sooner-than-expected exit announcement as a positive. In Australia, GYG's annual underlying earnings guidance is about 1% ahead of Toner's forecast and in line with consensus. RBC has a last-published outperform rating and A$22.00 target price on the stock, which is up 15% at A$20.73. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
