Oura Inc., the maker of Oura Rings, filed confidentially for an initial public offering.
The company's rings track metrics such as heart rate and skin temperature, and are intended to help improve sleep and reduce stress. They have been praised by various celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Zuckerberg.
Investors in Oura include Fidelity Management & Research and Forerunner Ventures. Dexcom announced a partnership with Oura in 2024 focused on metabolic health and said it would invest $75 million.
Last year, the company introduced the Oura Meals feature, in which an artificial-intelligence-powered health coach would analyze the nutritional value of meal photos taken by users.
The company, founded in Finland in 2013 and now based in San Francisco, was valued at about $11 billion as of October.
At that time, it reported that it raised over $900 million in funding led by Fidelity with significant participation from new investor Iconiq and contributions from Whale Rock and Atreides.
Oura said in May that it was on pace to surpass 5 million paid members this quarter. In October, the company said it was on track to double its revenue in 2025, to more than $1 billion.
Like many companies, Oura disclosed the confidential S-1 filing in a press release with few details, planning an eventual public filing that would include financial results, underwriters, plans for use of proceeds and other specifics.
