Hut 8 (HUT) said Tuesday it will spend about $16 million with West Feliciana Parish to upgrade local water infrastructure for its River Bend AI data center campus.

The company said the plan includes a new water well, about eight miles of pipelines, and other improvements.

The parish will own the system after completion, expected in the second half, at no cost to taxpayers, the company said.

Hut 8 said the upgrades are expected to support water reliability for thousands of homes and businesses and are part of Louisiana's broader infrastructure push, including a $750 million state water program.

The campus is a multibillion-dollar phase 1 investment, expected to create about 1,000 construction jobs and 75 permanent jobs once operational, it added.
