Boston Scientific (BSX) said Tuesday that a clinical trial evaluating its investigational catheter for treating severe coronary artery disease met primary safety and effectiveness endpoints.

The study of 420 patients demonstrated a 93.3% rate of freedom from major adverse cardiac events at 30 days alongside a 93.7% procedural success rate, the company said.

Physicians achieved complete stent delivery success and a 94.2% average expansion rate at the most calcified arterial segments using the device, it said.
