Samsonite Likely to Face Earnings Pressure -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
May 15
0220 GMT - The pressure on Samsonite's margins may persist as it continues to invest in new store openings and branding, says Citi analyst Lydia Ling in a note. While Samsonite's 1Q revenue came in line with estimates, the 29% year-over-year decline in adjusted net profit due to higher distribution and marketing expenses fell short of expectations, the analyst says. Citi cuts its 2026 net profit forecast for Samsonite by 6.1% and lowers its target price to 16.80 Hong Kong dollars from HK$18.00. The bank keeps its buy rating on the stock. Shares are up 2.6% at HK$14.40.(venkat.pr@wsj.com)
