StubHub Holdings swung to a first-quarter profit as revenue grew, boosted by healthy trends in live events and its resale marketplace.
The ticketing company on Wednesday recorded a profit of $32.5 million, or 6 cents a share, compared with a loss of $35.9 million, or 12 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue climbed 12% year over year to $446 million, compared with analyst estimates of $425 million.
Gross merchandise sales, a measure of the total value of goods sold on the platform, rose 7% year over year to $2.2 billion.
Chief Executive Eric Baker said the company is seeing a healthy operating environment for both live events and its resale marketplace, and its growing scale is boosting profitability.
The company is also making progress on several new aims, including open distribution and advertising, which it expects to drive better outcomes for fans and boost revenue in the future, Baker said.
For the full year, the company continues to project gross merchandise sales of between $9.9 billion and $10.1 billion. It also backed its guidance for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of $400 million to $420 million.
