Via Stock Slips After Outlook Falls Short of Analyst Estimates

Shares of Via declined after the company's second-quarter outlook came in below Wall Street's forecasts, though the company raised its revenue forecast for the full year.

The stock fell 6.6% to $15.81 on Tuesday. Shares are down 42% year to date.

The public transit software and services company guided for second-quarter platform revenue between $132.5 million and $134 million, coming in below analysts' forecast of $134.4 million, according to FactSet.

Via expects an adjusted loss before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of $4 million to $3 million for the second quarter, compared with analyst estimates of a loss of $2.8 million.

For the full year, the company raised its revenue guidance and backed its profit outlook.

Chief Executive Daniel Ramot said Via is seeing strong demand for its platform, which offers municipalities, transit agencies and universities the software needed to operate their transportation systems including technology that designs transit routes and schedules.

In the latest quarter, the company had 838 customers, up 23% year over year.

Via's first-quarter loss came in at $20.1 million, or 25 cents a share, compared with a loss of $16.3 million, or $1.28 a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted loss per share was 5 cents. Analysts expected an adjusted loss of 6 cents.

Revenue climbed 29% to $127.4 million, topping analyst estimates of $123.6 million.
