Sally Beauty logged higher profit and sales in its fiscal second quarter, despite operating amid what Chief Executive Denise Paulonis called a dynamic macroeconomic environment.

The beauty supply company on Monday posted a profit of $41.7 million, or 43 cents a share, for its three months ended March 31, compared with $39.2 million, or 38 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, earnings were 44 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of 41 cents a share.

Net sales rose 2.3% to $903.4 million, just ahead of the $900.8 million that Wall Street had modeled.

Comparable sales, which account for store openings and closings, climbed 1.3%, just below analyst views for a 1.4% gain.

Paulonis said the recent quarter's results reflect solid execution and the resilience of Sally Beauty's operating model.

Looking ahead, Sally Beauty guided for adjusted earnings of 52 cents to 56 cents a share on sales of $932 million to $942 million for the current quarter. Comparable sales are projected to be approximately flat. Analysts are expecting adjusted earnings of 58 cents a share, net sales of $949.6 million, and comparable sales to climb 1.8%.

For its fiscal 2026, the company narrowed its net sales view to between $3.73 billion and $3.75 billion, compared with a prior view of $3.71 billion to $3.77 billion. It continues to expect adjusted earnings of $2.02 to $2.10 a share, as well as for comparable sales to be flat to up 1%.
