Novo Nordisk Says Higher-Dose Wegovy Shows Notable Weight Loss in New Data -- Shares Up Pre-Bell

Novo Nordisk (NVO) said Tuesday the higher dose of Wegovy helped people with obesity lose "significant amounts" of weight irrespective of how quickly their body responds to the treatment, based on a new sub-analysis from a clinical trial.
The study tested the higher dose of semaglutide of 7.2 milligrams against the 2.4-mg dose and placebo over 72 weeks.
On average, people on the 7.2-mg dose lost 21% of total body weight, while those on the 2.4-mg regimen lost about 17.5% within 72 weeks, and those on the placebo lost 2.4%, according to the company.
Novo Nordisk shares were up 2.5% in premarket activity.
