Klaviyo Shares Fall Despite Lifted FY Outlook

Klaviyo's stock fell after the company reported first-quarter results and announced that Chief Financial Officer Amanda Whalen will step down.

Shares of software company declined 19% in after-hours trading Tuesday to $19.30. Ahead of the close, the company's shares were $23.33, up nearly 4% during the regular session.

Klaviyo said Whalen will step down Aug. 21 and move into advisory role. The company has initiated a search for its next CFO.

Klaviyo a first-quarter profit of $9 million, or 3 cents a share, compared with a loss of $14.1 million, or 5 cents a share. Revenue rose to $358 million from $297.8 million.

The company lifted its full-year guidance, projecting sales between $1.51 billion and $1.52 billion, up from previous guidance of between $1.50 billion and $1.51 billion.

Klaviyo now expects adjusted operating income between $222 million and $228 million, up from previous guidance of between $218 million and $224 million.

The company on Tuesday issued a forecast for second-quarter adjusted operating income of $47.5 million to $50.5 million, below analyst estimates of $52 million, according to FactSet.
