California's reformulated gasoline refinery production rebounded sharply last week, while jet fuel inventories were little changed, according to the latest California Energy Commission data.
CARB RFG refinery inputs and production jumped to 4.459 million bbl for the week ended Friday, up from 3.835 million bbl the previous week, the CEC said Wednesday.
RFG inventories edged higher to 4.686 million bbl from 4.658 million bbl a week ago, but they were under the level during the same week in 2025 at 4.807 million bbl.
On April 30, PBF Energy said it expected its 157,000 b/d Martinez refinery's fluid catalytic cracking unit to begin production in a matter of days. On Wednesday, however, the Northern California refinery said a pump fire broke out and has subsequently been extinguished.
Gasoline blending component stocks rose to 3.949 million bbl from 3.852 million bbl in the prior week.
The state's jet fuel stocks inched up to 2.988 million bbl last week from 2.983 million bbl the previous week, and were well below the year-ago level of 3.317 million bbl.
California jet refinery production fell slightly to 2.255 million bbl compared to 2.263 million bbl a week ago.
Similarly, CARB diesel stocks were little changed at 1.413 million bbl last week versus 1.417 million bbl a week earlier. During the same week last year, they were at 1.244 million bbl.
CARB diesel refinery production fell to 664,000 bbl from 840,000 bbl a week ago.
