BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) said it has entered into an intellectual property (IP) distribution license agreement with Asicland, a South Korea-based semiconductor solutions provider, granting Asicland a non-exclusive, worldwide license to its Akida neuromorphic AI IP portfolio, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

The company said the agreement includes upfront evaluation and production license fees on a per-customer basis, ongoing volume-based royalties on net sales of licensed products, and additional fees for optional services and software maintenance, with the financial impact unable to be quantified at this time but anticipated to be "material" over time.

The agreement enables Asicland to integrate Akida IP into system-on-chip (SoC) designs for multiple end customers, subject to licensing approvals by BrainChip, with BrainChip providing access to the Akida IP, associated runtime software, documentation, reference designs, and example AI models, the filing added.

BrainChip Holdings' shares jumped past 4% in recent Monday trade.
