Napco Security Technologies shares fell Monday after the company posted a first-quarter loss tied to a large litigation settlement charge.
Shares traded 11% lower at $41.81.
The security-systems manufacturer on Monday reported a net loss of $400,000, or one cent a share, compared with a profit of $10.1 million, or 28 cents a share, a year earlier.
The company said the decline was largely due to a $16 million litigation settlement charge in the quarter.
Excluding the settlement charge and other one-offs, adjusted earnings came to 39 cents a share, topping expectations of 33 cents a share, according to FactSet.
Revenue rose to $49.2 million, just shy of the $49.3 million analysts expected.
