Cogent Communications Shares Hit 14-Yr Low Amid Falling 1Q Revenue

Cogent Communications shares fell to a 14-year nadir after the company posted lower first-quarter revenue.

Shares of the internet-service provider tumbled 35% on Monday to $15.02. The stock reached a 14-year low of $14.82 earlier in the session, heading for its lowest close since January 2012.

The company posted a loss of $39.5 million, or 83 cents a share, compared with a loss of $52 million, or $1.09 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting a loss of $1 a share.

Revenue fell to $239.2 million from $247 million a year earlier. Analysts were expecting revenue of $241.3 million.
