Shares of Eton Pharmaceuticals climbed to a fresh high after the company relaunched Hemangeol, its treatment for a type of infantile birthmark known as hemangioma.
The biopharmaceutical company's stock rose 18%, to $28.48, midday Friday after hitting a record high of $29.80 earlier in the session. The shares are up 68% so far this year.
Hemangeol, an oral solution approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is available exclusively through Anovo Specialty Pharmacy, Eton said. The company launched the drug with a patient support service known as Eton Cares.
The prescription drug treats infantile humangiomas, which are non-cancerous tumors that typically appear in the first days or weeks of a baby's life, the company said.
