Travel + Leisure's Stock Decline Overstates Weaknesses -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Apr 23

1102 ET - Wednesday's 14% decline in Travel + Leisure's shares overstates the company's actual weaknesses, Mizuho analyst Ben Chaiken says in a note. The slide in shares stems from the company's commentary on its earnings call about a "wobble" in loans that have originated in the last several quarters, Chaiken says. The company also did not increase its fiscal year guidance, which may have caused shares decline. Overall, the company had a strong quarter, particularly in its vacation ownership business, Chaiken says. (chris.kuo@wsj.com)
