Brown-Forman (BF.A) is said to favor a potential sale to Pernod Ricard over another proposal from Sazerac, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing a person familiar with the company's thinking.
The maker of Jack Daniel's sees the French distiller as a better fit than Sazerac because the combined company would be diversified across types of spirits and geographies, the report said, citing the person. A deal with Pernod would also give Brown-Forman a bigger stake in the business and more influence, the report said.
Brown-Forman didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
