HDB Financial Services' Net Profit Climbs in Fiscal Q4; Shares Up 7%

HDB Financial Services' (NSE:HDBFS, BOM:544429) net profit rose to 7.51 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, from 5.31 billion rupees a year ago, according to a Wednesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

The company's shares were up over 7% in Thursday's trade.

Earnings per share came in at 9.02 rupees from 6.65 rupees a year earlier.

Revenue from operations in fiscal Q4 also increased to 47.5 billion rupees from 42.7 billion rupees a year ago.

The company's board of directors recommended a final dividend of 2 rupees per equity share of face value of 10 rupees each for the fiscal year ended March 31.
