AusQuest's (ASX:AQD) Playa Kali and Lantana copper-gold projects in Peru, for which the company recently secured drill permits, add "attractive" exploration optionality, said Euroz Hartleys in a Wednesday note.

The company on Wednesday said it received drill permits for the Playa Kali and Lantana copper-gold projects in Peru, with drilling planned to start during the June quarter.

The research firm believes that Cangallo continues to build scale and economic potential, with ongoing RC and planned diamond drilling expected to further extend mineralization and underpin a "significant" new copper discovery with "material" resource upside.

Euroz Hartleys maintained its speculative buy rating with a price target of AU$0.12.

The company's shares fell 2% in recent Thursday trade.
