Nickel Industries (ASX:NIC) said mining operations have restarted at the Hengjaya mine in Indonesia after a Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources probe, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Operations were put on hold following a fatal accident on the mine's haul road involving a contractor engaged by PT Fajar Metal Industry for the construction of transmission lines for the slurry plant and dry stacked tailings facility infrastructure, an earlier filing showed.

Hengjaya Mine and PT Fajar Metal Industry management are collaborating with the authorities to resume construction on the section of the transmission lines where the accident took place, per the filing.

Nickel Industries' shares were down 1% in recent Thursday trade.
