Tecnoglass lowered its full-year earnings outlook to account for higher tariffs that have just been implemented.
The aluminum- and vinyl-window maker said Thursday it was lowering its outlook for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization due to the 10% tariffs on certain finished aluminum windows and products imported into the U.S.
Tecnoglass now expects full-year adjusted Ebitda to be $225 million to $245 million, down from a prior range of $294 million to $304 million. The new guidance reflects an incremental $50 million net effect, the company said.
The new tariffs were announced on April 2 as part of the White House's updates to trade policies on metals.
The net effect incorporates pricing actions with an effective date starting on orders in early May, which are expected to benefit results in the second half of the year.
Tecnoglass said it is also implementing additional operational efficiencies with logistics, automation and headcount to help offset the new tariff costs.
The new projection also accounts for the potential effect of sustained elevated aluminum prices in the second half of the year.
Tecnoglass said its first quarter performance was in line with expectations at the start of the year, supported by order activity and a record backlog.
The company still expects double-digit revenue growth for the full year.
