Quad/Graphics Imposes Temporary Surcharge to Offset Higher Ink Costs

Quad/Graphics (QUAD) said Friday it will impose a temporary surcharge on its printing inks, UV coatings and varnishes to offset higher costs associated with its Chemical Research/Technology unit, effective immediately.
The company said the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has resulted in higher transportation and energy expenses, increasing ink manufacturing costs.
It added that related product categories, including coatings, adhesives and specialty fluids, are also facing similar cost pressures.
Quad/Graphics said it will communicate directly with clients regarding specific implementation details.
