Duratec Unit Wins Plug, Abandonment Services Contract for Papua New Guinea Operations

Duratec's (ASX:DUR) Duratec (PNG) subsidiary secured a contract with Lihir Gold, a subsidiary of Newmont (ASX:NEM), for the provision of plug and abandonment services at the Lihir Operations in Papua New Guinea, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
A portion of the contract scope relates to the first phase of the Lihir Nearshore Soil Barrier project, with the deal expected to generate revenue over 12 months, the filing said.
Work is expected to start immediately, per the filing.
