JPMorganChase is beginning a new initiative aimed at guiding the development of its financial education and planning services for athletes.

The bank said Wednesday its new JPMorganChase Athlete Council, composed of a number of famous athletes, will meet with the company's leaders on a periodic basis to steer the development of programs to address athletes' financial needs.

The group, chaired by Hall of Fame professional basketball player Dwyane Wade, includes other professional basketball players such as A'ja Wilson and Jalen Brunson; soccer players Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan; and football players Tom Brady and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Ally Love, a Peloton instructor, and Sue Bird, managing director for USA Women's Basketball and a professional basketball Hall of Famer, are also part of the council.

The company said it aims to develop offerings for athletes to help them navigate from college through professional sports to retirement.

"At JPMorganChase, we can help every athlete regardless of income level manage their financial plan for the future," J.P. Morgan Wealth Management's Chief Executive Kristin Lemkau said.
