Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) said all critical service and equipment providers for the stimulation, completion, and testing program of the Diona-1 well in the Surat-Bowen Basin in Queensland were finalized, with initial operations expected to begin in March and conclude with a 14-day flow test starting in April, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
Contracts and orders for long-lead items have been finalized in preparation for the testing, Xstate Resources (ASX:XST) said in a separate same-day filing. The testing will include a three-stage perforation and stimulation, and the stimulated zones will then be completed and tested. The work is scheduled to begin with the first perforation in the week starting March 9.
The primary objective of the program is to show the recovery of gas and condensate to the surface and test the productivity of the reservoirs identified on the petrophysics.
Elixir owns a 49% stake in the Diona sub-block, while Xstate Resources owns 51%.
