Entropy Neurodynamics (ASX:ENP) said recruitment for the first group in its clinical trial of its TRP-8803 drug candidate, or intravenous-infused psilocin, in the treatment of binge eating disorder was completed, with six patients enrolled, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The study's primary endpoint is safety and tolerability of two administrations of TRP-8803 over 12 weeks following first dosing. The secondary and exploratory endpoints include the assessment of changes in binge eating frequency, body mass index, weight-related measures, and broader psychological parameters.

It will recruit a total of 12 patients with binge eating disorder, in two six-person groups. Each group will receive two doses of TRP-8803, 14 days apart, in conjunction with supportive therapy. The first group will receive a mid-range therapeutic dose.

The first and second patients in the first group completed both dosing sessions. The third, fourth, and fifth patients completed their four-week baseline assessments and are scheduled to receive dosing in the coming weeks. The sixth began baseline assessment. Meanwhile, the firm enrolled the first two patients into the second group.

Its shares rose 3% in recent trading on Tuesday.
