Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Co. (STA) posted a consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of THB 645.4 million for the three months ended 31 Mar 2026, down 6.3 per cent year-on-year, as weaker natural-rubber prices outweighed higher contributions from its gloves arm.
The bottom-line translated into earnings per share of THB 0.42, compared with THB 0.45 a year earlier. STA will pay a final dividend of THB 0.50 per share for FY 2025, with payment scheduled for May 2026.
Group revenue fell 21.9 per cent YoY to THB 26.84 billion. Natural-rubber sales remained the largest contributor at THB 21.36 billion, but were hurt by lower average selling prices and volumes. Glove revenue came in at THB 5.47 billion, easing from THB 6.52 billion in the previous period.
By segment, first-quarter profit before tax stood at: • Natural rubber: THB 380 million (-5.5 per cent YoY) • Gloves: THB 447 million (+10.4 per cent YoY) • Others: THB 79 million (+19.7 per cent YoY)
Operating performance benefited from THB 343 million of flood-related insurance compensation, partly offset by a THB 166 million loss on derivatives and higher hedge-related charges. Finance costs fell to THB 316.9 million from THB 477.2 million as the group reduced short-term bank borrowings.
Glove subsidiary Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Pcl. completed a first share-buyback programme in March, repurchasing 100.2 million shares for THB 816.8 million, and has launched a second repurchase plan of up to THB 683 million running through November 2026.
On the investment front, STA sold overseas listed equity securities for THB 3.31 billion, booked a THB 1.92 billion gain in retained earnings, and made a USD 89 million (THB 2.93 billion) advance for new equity stakes, to be transferred in April.
Looking ahead, management is focusing on optimising inventory levels, expanding high-margin glove capacity and maintaining disciplined capital allocation amid volatile commodity markets.
